Snack Like a Southerner: Okra and Tomatoes


2 slices of bacon
1lb frozen okra (thawed and sliced)
1 small chopped onion
1/2 chopped green bell pepper
2 chopped celery
1 (14.5oz) can stewed tomatoes

Step One:
Fry up the bacon! In a deep skillet, cook up the bacon. Drain the pain, let the bacon cool a bit and then crumble it. Set aside.

Step Two:
In the same pan, sauté the okra, onion, pepper and celery. Use butter if you want in the pan. 

Step Three:
Add the tomatoes, salt and pepper to the sauté mix. Cook until the tomatoes are heated through.

Step Four:
Serve with crumble bacon as garnish.
