Snack Like a Southerner: Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole

1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cans green beans (I like to do one can French cut and one can normal cut)
1/2 cup milk or sour cream
1 bag of fried onion pieces
Shredded sharp cheddar
1 cup crushed Goldfish or Cheez Its (optional, but gives a nice cheesy crunch)
Garlic powder

Preheat oven to 365.

Step One:
Crush the Goldfish/Cheez Its. This is easiest if you pour them into a Ziploc baggie and then crush them with your hands or walk on the bag a couple of times. 

Step Two:
In a large bowl, pour the cream of mushroom soup, milk/sour cream, green beans, as much cheese as you see fit, some of the Goldfish/Cheez It dust, and half the bag of onion pieces into the bowl. Stir.

Step Three:
Dump mixture into a baking dish--using a disposable aluminum one from the store might be easiest because you can store it in the fridge for a few days and then just toss it when you're done. Sprinkle the remaining onions and Goldfish crumbs over top of the casserole, and top it with cheese if you like.

Step Four:
Place in the oven and bake for 35 minutes.
